Why community helps in rehab

Last month my roommate started looking at Christian rehab options and he said the most important thing to him is having brothers in Christ around him. He told me he relapsed before because he felt isolated and he does not want that again. I want to help him find good info. Can anyone recommend content on community sense: how believers support each other during rehabilitation so I can show him what to expect?

From what I’ve seen, that sense of “not being alone” is huge in faith-based recovery. It’s not just meetings, it’s daily support, prayer, and people holding each other accountable in a positive way. I found this helpful read Christian-based drug rehab centers free and low cost  that explains how that community works. A guy from my old gym went through one, and he said having other believers around him made it easier to open up instead of shutting down like before.
